Here’s the invite for my upcoming opening:
Here’s last Sunday’s La Provence, with me on the left (well, to the right of the Pope) with the Great Finn Mac Eoin, Wheelbarrow-Racing Champion, and Unoffical Poet Laureate of Lacoste.
First of all, welcome to DANIELADEL.com version 2.0. It only took about 7 years, but here it is.
The main purpose of the redesign, apart from a cleaner look, is to enable me to keep the site more or less up to date, so unlike in the past you may notice some new things more often than once every 7 years.. And for this functionality and for dealing with an insufferable perfectionist, I’d like to thank Michael Conners for the tremendous work he put into rebuilding this site.
The French newspaper La Provence has just run an article about our little village gazette, The Figbone (L’Os de Figue), and as soon as I can I’ll post it and a translation in English, but until then, for those curious to know what the Figbone is and how it happened, there’s a brief summary on page 7 of the pdf (marked page 6 on the paper itself) (I know..). For those of you not familiar with Provencal leisure activities, Petanque is the Southern French version of Bocce Ball. The rest is fairly self-explanatory.
In the spirit of the News button:
On the easel are paintings which will be shown this fall at art fairs in Philadelphia, Boston and Miami.
My next show at Arcadia in NYC is scheduled for March 22, 2007.
And the next Figbone is coming together and should be ready to go to press any time between now and, well, next Spring.
Thanks for checking in.
